How To Register GrabFood Rider In Malaysia - GrabFood Registration (Updated 2024)
Below are the steps to register as GrabFood rider in Malaysia and get activated in only 5-days.
- Check your rider requirements below.
- Collect all four (4) required documents below.
- IMPORTANT: Do not sign up in Grab Driver App first. Upload your details and documents at the link below to secure your appointment for GrabFood kit collection.
- Follow the instructions inside email/SMS to contact your registration admin for further instructions.
- Due to COVID19 SOP, Applicants are NOT ALLOWED to walk in to Grab GDC without prior appointment or invitation.
Starting from 20th October,
Grabfood and GrabExpress rider can be registered through online. This initiative is taken by Grab to comply FMCO (Full Movement Control Order) SOP set by Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) in order to reduce the crowd in Grabfood offices.

GrabFood is a subsidiary service from Grab on food delivery. It has officially started in Malaysia in 2018 after the a success in GrabCar. Today, Grabfood is considered as one of the best food delivery platform in the country.
REQUIREMENT FOR GRABFOOD & GRAB EXPRESS RIDER (Delivery Partner):
- Malaysian Citizen (Blue MyKad/MyTentera)
- Aged 18-69 years old
- Riders above 50 years old will have to go through a medical checkup process
- Driving License B/B2 (L License is NOT accepted)
- Own an Android/IOS smartphone
- Never work for GrabExpress/GrabCar/GrabTaxi
- Never had any background issues (police/court cases)
- Never banned or suspended by Grab before.
- Reside in Kuala Lumpur Selangor and Seremban areas.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Profile Photo
- Identification Card (IC)
- Driving License(Active and Non-L)
- Copy of your Roadtax

GRABFOOD & GRABEXPRESS REGISTRATION FORM (KL SELANGOR)
- Firstly, collect all the four (4) required documents above. Take a clear photo and make sure all the words and clear in the photo.
- Click the GrabFood Registration Form link. Fill up and upload all the required details and documents.
- After you have submitted your registration form. Registration admins will WhatsApp you and send your further instructions within 24-hours (Monday - Friday). You have to follow the steps and instruction exactly to avoid time wastage on your registration process and appointments.
- The entire process will take approximately 7-14 days including individual background screening.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
How much is the total cost I am expecting to be a GrabFood rider?
The total cost is RM150 deposit. For starting, RM150 (3x RM50 of E-Pay topup). RM150 is refundable should the Grab Rider returns the GrabFood kit upon resignation.
Will I receive Jacket or Helmet for GrabFood?
Yes. You will be given a set of GrabFood kit upon account activation.
Can I change my GrabFood bag?
Yes. If you have met below work requirement:
Above 9 months = FREE
Below 9 months = RM150
Can I change my operating city?
Yes. After you have completed 20 trips within a month and active for a minimum of 3 months.
Any penalty if I did not start after receiving the GrabFood bag?
RM50 Topup will be forfeited and your slot will be given to next interested rider. Minimum of 20 jobs in 30-days after receiving your Grabfood bag is a must.
How much commission will Grab deduct from my fare?
0%. Grab will not deduct any commission from rider's collected fare.
Can I operate outside of my registered city (KL SELANGOR) ?
No you cannot.
Payment method for GrabFood?
All payments will only be completed in GrabPay. GrabFood does not have cash transactions.
Are there any work schedule for GrabFood riders like other companies?
No. As a GrabFood rider, you can online anytime you want as long it is inside hotspot and busy hours. Just stay online in your application and standby at any hotspot.
Estimation of GrabFood Rider income?
On average, base fare for each delivery is RM4-RM10 depends on distance. Bonuses will be added on peak hours and high demand areas.
Background issues such as criminal case, police case, court case, dangerous driving summons.
All new riders MUST HAVE clean background and do not have more than three (3) summons in a year or nine (9) in 3-years.
I have worked for GrabCar/ GrabFood/ GrabTaxi/ UberEAT. What should I do now?
You should contact Grab Existing Partner support 0327881300 for your account status. You DO NOT have to register new account.
I want to register GrabFood for my restaurant. I do not want to register GrabFood rider.
